We feel that the Badgers Hall has not been open enough for it to be missed.On the other hand it would be a real shame if this was to be a residential and yet another business that would affect the town. It would feel as if the town is slowly dying, we need more shops, coffee houses and no more art galleries.

They have planned to retire for several years and have previously sought to sell the property, engaging agents in 2018 to market the premises for sale for a year.The premises relaunched onto the market in February 2021 but they have not received a reasonable offer to date. The planning statement reads: “In addition to the desire to retire, the changing economic circumstances brought about by the <a target="_self" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/all-about/coronavirus">Covid-19 pandemic</a> has impacted upon the business due to the ongoing economic uncertainty, which in turn will have affected the ability to sell the premises as a business opportunity.“These more recent circumstances have compounded the applicants’ desire to cease trading from the premises and retire and thus they seek to use the building solely as a residential premises for their own use.”Chipping Campden Town Council has objected to the proposals as they say it will hurt trade in the town. “It is in the main retail area in the town and will have an adverse economic impact on the other businesses in the High Street,” they said.
