Coming Sunday 29th August
Planning for CamFest is now at an advanced stage with many local organisations involved and a wide range of entertainment and activities already finalised. Top of the bill will be a number of local ‘must see’ musical acts being co-ordinated by Jon Beynon and Geoff Carr of Generation Jones including Generation Jones themselves, Greg Brice, Brimstone and more.
Other attractions include a performance by our very own Campden Morris, an Allotment Produce competition, Football and Cricket demonstrations/exhibition matches, local produce and craft stalls, Scarecrow and Fancy Dress competitions, the Fete of Ray (with 5 attractions including a Coconut Shy and Splat The Rat), Wine Tasting (hosted by Campden’s own Little Oak Vineyard) and much more. And of course we will have the crowning of the Scuttlebrook Queen and the Scuttlebrook Children’s Races culminating with an open entry fun Tug O‘ War.
Finally, as a ‘special attraction’, straight from the Dovers Games workshop (courtesy of Ray Lloyd), a Virtual Shin Kicking Competition! However, it is still not too late for you to participate – whether you are a local trader, craftsperson or organisation – just contact the Town Clerk Jo Harrigan on [email protected] On site refreshments will include a beer (and other drinks) tent (courtesy of the Volunteer), a variety of hot and cold foods stalls and an ice cream/candy floss van. And there will be a dedicated family picnic area if you want to BYO! The festival ground will open at 1:30pm whilst the programme starts with the Scuttlebrook Parade at 2:30pm and will continue until after 7pm.
REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS: If you would like to help with this Community Event, putting up tables for the stalls, getting the stage prepared, acting as Steward or helping clear up afterwards then please contact: [email protected]
